Case Studies

Luke Richards, 20 from Ladbrooke Grove

Luke is softly spoken and slender, but he is taking partking part in the TAG programme will see him becoming a Fitness Instructor and work in a gym for four months to get experience of the workplace.

Luke hopes to be able to land a job in a gym and TAG will help to provide him with all the skills he needs to be a great fitness instructor.

Luke left school and found that he was hanging around the West London streets getting into trouble. He stole a pushbike and received a month long sentence at Feltham Young Offenders Institute. Luke says:

“Getting into trouble was a real wake up call. I sat in prison and knew that serving a sentence for a couple of weeks meant that I had a chance to change my attitude. My family helped me out a lot and when I came out I started looking for an opportunity that would mean that I could start to get on with my life. I have a very young baby and I want to make her proud of me. Having a baby makes you up your game. I really want to make sure that I have a good, steady job and pay my way.”
