Did you know…

Over a million young people are not in education, employment or training (NEETs).

10 % of young people remain NEET for six months or more.

48 %of black or black British people aged 16-24 are now unemployed which is twice the rate of white people of the same age.

27 % of young men with GCSE’s or equivalent are unemployed.

43 % of people with no qualifications are unemployed.

4.2 million people in Britain claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance since 2008.

Young men who were NEET are three times more likely to suffer from depression, and five times more likely to have a criminal record, than their peers.

The 2008 NEET cohort will cost an estimated £13 billion in public finance costs and £22 billion in opportunity costs over their lifetimes.
