Samantha Kwok
Samantha talks about her experiences:
After graduation I thought the road would naturally lead to employment, however I couldn’t have been more wrong – Sitting at home, days turned into weeks, which turned into months…before I knew it, a year had passed and I was still unemployed.
Not being able to land myself a job or even a voluntary work placement, my confidence fell. Interview after interview I’d be told that I didn’t have the confidence, the personality or the experience to work in events.
My first Tag interview was with Howard DeSouza, this was a totally new interview experience – unlike many other interviews I’d been on, I didn’t feel looked down on, but instead, I felt that someone genuinely wanted to give me an opportunity. He arranged for me to attend a training session for “interview techniques” which helped me pass the stage I dreaded the most – the interviews!
Working at the Fitness Industry Association is truly amazing; from the first day everyone made me feel part of the team. My manager Hayley Bevan is constantly helping me develop my skills and is giving me chances to learn.
Being able to work on all kinds of events from the fitness industry’s annual award ceremony (Ball of Fire) to health and fitness seminars really is a dream come true.
I was asked to write the best part of my “Tag experience”– the truth is; the whole experience has been incredible. From the first call, to being where I am today – Everything seems surreal!
I am so grateful for Tag, without them I’d probably have ended up working 12 hour shifts 7 days a week at a Chinese restaurant!
